We are excited to announce the launch of Think Big’s West Coast operation, led by Sacramento-based communications and government affairs strategist Jon Berrier.
A full-service public affairs, strategic communications and integrated marketing firm, Think Big combines best-in-class communications advisory services with award-winning, in-house creative production, data and digital advocacy solutions for corporations, associations, and nonprofits.
Jon brings to the team two decades of political, agency and corporate experience helping organizations navigate high-stakes public policy and reputational challenges, including managing legislative, issue advocacy, crisis and ballot measure campaigns throughout the Western U.S. and across the country.
“Having been a long-time client of Think Big, I know exactly what the firm is capable of, the tremendous talent of the team and the superior value of their services and products,” said Berrier. “I’m thrilled to combine my public affairs experience in the marketplace with their suite of offerings to help clients solve big problems and achieve their objectives.”
Most recently, Jon spent five years overseeing U.S. Public Affairs and State Government Affairs for Juul Labs. Prior to Juul, he was an Executive Vice President at Edelman, the world’s largest communications advisory firm, where he counseled clients across a diverse set of sectors and issue areas. Before Edelman, Jon ran his own communications consultancy and helped build the California operation for Mercury, a public strategy firm. He is a veteran of the Bush-Cheney ‘04 presidential campaign, the Bush ‘43 White House and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s successful 2006 reelection campaign.
Joining Jon, and expanding Think Big’s presence into Southern California, is Ryan Fitzpatrick, a digital public affairs specialist based in Orange County with 15 years of experience at the intersection of technology and politics. Prior to joining Think Big, he was responsible for building and directing the grassroots, coalition, and political giving programs at Juul Labs.
Ryan got his start at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he enabled hundreds of members, including fortune 500 companies, trade associations, and state + local chambers of commerce, to launch their premiere digital advocacy programs that complemented direct lobbying efforts and successfully advanced legislative agendas. After the Chamber, Ryan led Politics and Advocacy Marketing at Resonate, a company that offers an AI-based solution for consumer and voter intelligence and targeting.
“Building a Western Region presence for Think Big is a tremendous opportunity as we continue to grow,” said CEO Lewis Muller, “Jon and Ryan are a dynamic, seasoned pair of professionals with a stellar reputation and proven ability to help organizations succeed. We welcome them aboard and know they will be a major asset to the firm and our clients.”
