Senior Video Producer / Shooter

Think Big is a fast-moving creative agency specializing in political, public-affairs, advocacy, and documentary-style storytelling. We produce high-impact video content ranging from congressional ads to brand documentaries, social explainers, event coverage, and stories for global tech and commerce clients.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Video Producer / Shooter; a hybrid role for someone who can own production from start to finish, run shoots confidently, and also jump into post-production when needed. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast timelines, solves problems quickly, and elevates creative with experience, taste, and impeccable organization.
Key Responsibilities (Production Leadership)

Lead all aspects of on-set video production: planning, equipment prep, lighting/camera setup, directing talent, and managing shoot flow.

Serve as the on-the-ground production lead for Think Big shoots across the country.

Build and manage call sheets, shot lists, tech specs, schedules, and gear manifests.

Scout locations (virtual or in person), assess lighting + sound conditions, and propose creative/technical solutions.

Direct interviews with political candidates, business owners, executives, and real people.

Ensure we get all required deliverables following a consistent standard.

Maintain quality control for production aesthetics including lighting, framing, audio, and general visual style.

Work closely with the Creative Director and account team to align on messaging, tone, and visual approach.

Travel frequently (sometimes with short notice) for shoots across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities (Post-Production)

Edit a range of content: political spots, social cutdowns, testimonials, documentary sequences, event recaps, and branding videos.

Create clean timelines, organized bins, proxies, etc., following naming and storage standards.

Work efficiently within the fast-turn political environment (24–72 hr turnarounds when needed).

Add basic graphics, text layout, and handle audio mixing + color correction at a solid professional level.

Collaborate with designers, editors, and Creative Director for more complex work.

Deliver final exports and ensure all digital/CTV specs are correct.
Key Responsibilities (Production Operations)

Maintain and inventory camera, audio, lighting, and grip gear; recommend upgrades and replacements.

Source and manage local crew when needed (audio, ACs, grips, etc.)

Ensure backups and file transfers follow agency SOPs, especially during multi-state shoots.

Coordinate logistics with internal producers, project managers, and clients.

Support the Head of Production in building scalable production frameworks as the agency grows.
Qualifications
-
Has 5+ years 7+ experience in video production, documentary work, political or public affairs content, or brand storytelling.

Is fully comfortable running a small-to-mid-sized set solo or with a small crew.

Has strong experience with at least one major cinema ecosystem:
Sony FX/Venice, Canon C-Series, Blackmagic, etc. -
Has taste. Can walk into a space and know how to make it look good quickly.

Is calm under pressure, especially on shoots with business owners or elected officials.

Can edit quickly and cleanly with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects skills a bonus).

Can travel regularly and adapt to shifting political timelines.

Understands the pace and demands of political or advocacy work and isn’t intimidated by it

Thrives in a remote-first team with high expectations and high trust.
NICE-TO-HAVES
-
Previous political or public-affairs experience.

Drone certification.
-
Documentary cinematography or branded content background.

Ability to perform basic color work or sound design.

Experience collaborating within Asana, Frame.io, and 1Password ecosystems
