Senior Video Producer / Editor
Remote with frequent travel
Think Big is a fast-moving creative agency specializing in political, public-affairs, advocacy, and documentary-style storytelling. We produce high-impact video content ranging from congressional ads to brand documentaries, social explainers, event coverage, and stories for global tech and commerce clients.
The Role
We're looking for a Producer / Editor — a hybrid role for someone who can own a production from start to finish, run shoots confidently, and step into the edit suite when needed. This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who thrives under tight timelines, solves problems on their feet, and brings both production experience and editorial instincts to every project.
Key Responsibilities (Production Leadership)
-
Lead all aspects of on-set video production: planning, equipment prep, lighting and camera setup, directing talent, and managing shoot flow
-
Serve as the on-the-ground production lead for Think Big shoots across the country
-
Build and manage call sheets, shot lists, tech specs, schedules, and gear manifests
-
Scout locations (virtually or in person), assess lighting and sound conditions, and propose creative and technical solutions
-
Direct interviews with political candidates, business owners, executives, and everyday people
-
Maintain quality control for production aesthetics: lighting, framing, audio, and overall visual style
-
Work closely with the Creative Director and account team to align on messaging, tone, and visual approach before and during shoots
-
Travel frequently — sometimes on short notice — for shoots across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities (Post-Production)
-
Edit a range of content: political spots, social cutdowns, testimonials, documentary sequences, event recaps, and brand videos
-
Build clean timelines, organized bins, and proxies following agency naming and storage standards
-
Work efficiently within the fast-turn political environment (24–72 hour turnarounds when needed)
-
Handle basic graphics, text layout, audio mixing, and color correction at a solid professional level
-
Collaborate with designers and the Creative Director on more complex post work
-
Deliver final exports and ensure all digital and CTV specs are correct
Key Responsibilities (Production Operations)
-
Maintain and inventory camera, audio, lighting, and grip gear; recommend upgrades and replacements as needed
-
Source and manage local crew when needed (audio, ACs, grips, etc.)
-
Ensure backups and file transfers follow agency SOPs, especially across multi-state shoots
-
Coordinate logistics with internal producers, project managers, and clients
-
Support the Head of Production in building scalable production frameworks as the agency grows
Qualifications
-
5–7 years of experience in video production, political or public-affairs content, documentary work, or brand storytelling
-
Fully comfortable running a small-to-mid-sized set solo or with a minimal crew
-
Strong experience with at least one major cinema ecosystem: Sony FX/Venice, Canon C-Series, Blackmagic, or similar
-
An eye for it — able to walk into any space and know how to make it look good quickly
-
Calm under pressure, especially on shoots with elected officials, executives, or real people under lights
-
Solid editing chops in Adobe Premiere Pro; After Effects skills a bonus
-
Able to travel regularly and adapt to shifting political timelines without losing your footing
-
Understands the pace and demands of political or advocacy work and isn't intimidated by it
-
Thrives in a remote-first team with high expectations and high trust
NICE-TO-HAVES
-
Previous political or public-affairs production experience
-
Drone certification
-
Documentary cinematography or branded content background
-
Color work or sound design skills beyond the basics
-
Experience working within Asana, Frame.io, and 1Password ecosystems
