Position Overview

What You’ll Own

  • Build and manage editorial calendars, program timelines, and deliverable schedules across concurrent accounts

  • Execute rapid response under deadline pressure, including drafting, routing, and approvals

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal digital, creative, and paid media teams

  • Maintain control over timelines, deliverables, and quality standards

  • Guide and develop junior staff on program execution and client-ready writing

  • Contribute to new business development through research, positioning, and writing

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

  • 4-6 years in public relations, public affairs, political campaigns, advocacy, or agency work

  • Demonstrated fluency at the intersection of public relations and public affairs, including how earned media and policy strategy reinforce each other

  • Exceptional writing across voices, formats, and deadlines; portfolio required

  • Proven capacity to manage multiple clients and workstreams simultaneously

  • Exceptional project management and organizational discipline

  • Sound judgment under pressure and in ambiguous situations

  • Experience serving as a point of contact for client executives

  • Direct experience contributing to new business pursuits, including RFP responses, pitch materials, and participation in client presentations

  • Uparalleled organizational skills

What Sets You Apart

  • Thrive in high-performance, campaign-driven environments with shifting timelines

  • Demonstrate extreme ownership and proactive initiative

  • Work quickly, responsively, and with attention to detail under pressure

  • Apply strategic thinking beyond execution to shape narrative rather than react to it

  • Maintain client-facing presence and accountability for results

  • Willing to travel for client engagements, media events, and industry conferences

  • Identify process and program improvement opportunities

  • Sector experience in contested or regulated industries including energy, healthcare, financial services, or transportation

  • Crisis and issues management experience, including preparedness planning and tabletop exercises

  • Coalition building and third-party engagement experience

  • Comfort treating analytics as intelligence rather than reporting

AI & Modern Workflow Expectations

  • Proficiency with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini for research, writing, ideation, and efficiency

  • Understanding that AI enhances rather than replaces thinking

What This Role Is Not

To ensure alignment, this role is not a fit for candidates who:

  • Have only worked in PR, media relations, or organic social

  • Lack hands-on paid media experience

  • Prefer to act as an intermediary between teams instead of contributing directly to campaign execution across media, creative, and production

  • Are not comfortable with travel, long days on shoots, or campaign intensity
