VP, Public Affairs & Business Development

We are an award winning media firm with a national brand, seeking a Senior level hire to
immediately help grow our public affairs client base, advise client campaign strategy, and assist
in establishing a premier Washington, DC public affairs agency.

How you’ll make an impact:

​​​

  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with and represent the agency before
    policymakers, trade associations, corporate government affairs offices, consultants, and
    other external organizations

  • Present, promote, and sell agency services using solid arguments to existing and
    prospective clients

  • Understand the agency’s offerings, and work with members of the team to leverage
    those offerings for client campaigns

  • Grow the agency’s advocacy engagement and grassroots capacities including, but not
    limited to, developing new tools and resources, taking a leading role in identifying
    budget priorities, and proposing and implementing strategies to increase the footprint
    of the advocacy and public affairs department

  • Possess a general knowledge of paid media strategies and tactics (TV, digital, etc.) and
    how they play effective roles in winning campaigns

  • Passionate about advising clients on how to generate creative messages through various
    mediums such as video, graphic design, animation, etc.

  • Manage a team of individuals who will execute your vision and deliver exceptional client
    service

Why we’ll love you:

​​

  • 5+ years of political or advocacy communications experience, preferably from Capitol
    Hill, a trade association, or advertising agency

  •  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Relationships with coalition, trade, and industry decision makers in Washington D.C and
    the ability to expand your network on national, state, and local levels

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of politics, government, and issue advocacy

  • Self-starter who will take ownership of a process and use problem-solving skills to
    resolve issues

  • Ability to organize and manage several priorities while working under pressure and with
    strict deadlines

  • Experience in managing and executing large-budget paid media campaigns and
    overseeing video production projects is preferable

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and when needed, including evenings and weekends.

  • Occasional travel
